Why Volunteer to Work Abroad?
A volunteer opportunity with Dragonfly!
For most people, the idea of giving up their precious vacation and holiday time is unthinkable, so why travel abroad to work instead of taking it easy? There are hundreds of reasons, but most reflect the desire to share one's own good fortune with those less-fortunate

But can you really make the world a better place just by volunteering for a few weeks? The effects that your volunteering experience have go beyond just the practical work that you do. You get to introduce people to your culture and show that theirs is valuable by sharing in it. Most every volunteer in Thailand has the opportunity to experience the warm reception given by people who feel deep respect for their hard work and sacrifice. One good deed begets another and people you meet and work with, especially children, will learn about giving and cooperation from your example.
And let's not forget fun! Learning to cook real pad thai, laughing through the tongue-twists of a new language with new friends, swimming in a refreshing river with dozens of giggling kids, and sharing a bunch of bananas with a white-handed gibbon are just a few of the multitude of experiences that could be in store on your adventure.
Who Can Volunteer?
We work with students, people in the workforce, and those who have retired from it and we have volunteer opportunities to meet everyone's interests and skills. We've done placements for people in their teens up to their 70s, and there's always a place What you need more than anything to volunteer in Thailand is dedication, flexibility, self-motivation, and a strong desire to help others. More than any experience, you need a desire and ability to learn new things and to adapt your skills to areas where they're needed.
