Whether you’re looking for comprehensive training before a volunteer placement or considering a teaching job, these training courses are an excellent way to improve your skills and confidence while providing you with internationally recognized certification.
How It Works
Dragonfly offers deals on 4-week TESOL and TEFL courses based in 5 beautiful locations across Thailand:
Ao Nang (Krabi) – southern beach town in a stunning location
Ban Phe (Rayong) – sleepy fishing town near great beaches
Chiang Mai – fun and scenic northern city
Phuket – lively city on Thailand’s most popular island
Samui Island (Koh Samui) – incredible island location
You’ll study the 120-hour course M-F for 4 weeks, under the tutelage of an experienced TESOL trainer who will help you through all you’ll need to know to understand the nuances and challenges of your own language and how to teach it to others.
Aside from some homework, your weekends and evenings are free for you to sample the many delights that the location you chose has to offer, from nightlife to lounging on the beach to trekking in the mountains!
Once the course is completed, you’ll obtain a TEFL or TESOL certificate, recognized internationally as a qualification for teaching English to non-native speakers.
The TEFL and TESOL courses cover similar material, and topics taught will include:
- teaching using a foreign language
- English grammar and phonology
- classroom management
- communicative activities
- games and theatre in the classroom
- feedback and testing
- …and much more!
You’ll also be taught how to create lessons and teaching materials, which you’ll then use during your observed teaching practice.
