Our Mission
Dragonfly's mission is to work across cultural and geographic boundaries to improve the lives of Thai people and to preserve Thailand's natural beauty by providing short and long-term support to people and institutions most in need.
Our Goals
- -to raise awareness, locally and internationally, of the issues facing people and environment in developing nations,
- -to promote inter-cultural respect and understanding through exchanges of language, cooperation, and a spirit of generosity,
- -to help our volunteers gain wisdom, experience, and new perspectives on living by challenging themselves and helping others
For our specific projects:
English Teaching
Interacting with foreign volunteers helps poor and rural students to learn more about the global community and build the skills and confidence in English that are required for pursuing higher education and employment opportunities.
Orphanage Care Work
Volunteers aid children's home staff in providing safe and secure learning and living conditions for Thailand's children, and help to provide the care and attention that all children deserve.
Building
By constructing useful buildings for students, families, and communities, and by sharing low-cost building technologies, we hope to give them a starting point - a place to live, study, work, meet, co-operate - from which to build their futures.
Wildlife
Volunteers care for animals that have been hurt by poorly planned development and work towards their re-introduction into their natural habitat, while teaching others about the importance of preserving wilderness and biodiversity.
